Sunnyside Solar, Inc. is a small family owned company specializing in photovoltaic electric systems - Sunlight to Electricity. Founded in 1979 and later incorporated in 1990, Sunnyside Solar has primarily been working in the design and installation of small to medium photovoltaic systems. Originally there were many independent stand alone systems, and more recently grid tie PV systems both straight line-tie and with battery back up. Many of these systems can be seen on our "Photos of Our Work" page. For the past several years, Richard and Carol have been involved in education, originally giving workshops from our shop and with Solar Energy International, with more recent programs with Ulster(NY) BOCES and Greenfield (MA) Community College.

Richard Gottlieb, president and chief engineer, has his Master's Degree in Solar Energy with a background in physics and engineering mechanices. Richard is an Eligible Installer for New York State Energy Resource Development Agency (NYSERDA), Member of Vermont State Solar Partners Program and a North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners - Certified NABCEP Installer. Recently Richard accepted a part time postion at Atlantis Energy in Poughkeepsie, NY as Senior Design Engineer. Carol Levin, VP, Secetary and Treasurer of the corporation holds forth in the office. Glenn Letourneau and Tom Buttrick work with Richard on local PV system installations as need. David Pyles keeps our web site up and functioning.
